wikipedia
The Radom Tax Chamber building in Radom, located at 41 Żeromskiego Street, is a historic structure with a rich history and interesting architecture. In 1867, the Radom Tax Chamber was established, initially covering the entire Radom Governorate. In the 1870s, the office was moved to a newly constructed building, which bordered the State Bank building to the east. The Tax Chamber occupied this building until 1917, when it was handed over to the Women's Commercial School, previously located in another building. In 1925, the school was transformed into the Maria Konopnicka Secondary School, which operated there until the 1960s. Today, the building serves as the headquarters of a credit bank. Architecturally, it is an eclectic, three-story, plastered brick building, distinguished by its rich stucco work on the facade. This decorative element, alongside its architecture, highlights the building's importance as a significant cultural landmark in Radom. Its earlier functions further enrich the building's history, reflecting its educational and administrative significance in the region. Interestingly, the building has survived many changes in its purpose, and its history reflects not only the development of local administration but also education in Radom.
