Tomasz Zieliński Palace in Kielce

The Tomasz Zieliński Palace is a historic building located in the center of Kielce, next to the Palace of the Kraków Bishops, on Zamkowa Street. The interior of the palace consists of numerous rooms, such as the Concert Hall, the Club Room, the Portrait Room, a café, and a library. Additionally, you can find two towers, an orangery, and a well-maintained garden featuring a well with a roof and a commemorative pillar. During the summer season, a café operates under umbrellas, and the entire complex is surrounded by a wall with loopholes, topped by a small tower known as the "Plotkarka" (Gossiper). The history of the palace dates back to the years 1847–1858, when Tomasz Zieliński leased the property and transformed it into a palace-and-garden complex, establishing a museum and a patronage center for artists. During this time, he hosted many renowned painters, such as Józef Szermentowski, January Suchodolski, Wojciech Gerson, and Franciszek Kostrzewski. Since 1985, the palace has been the seat of the House of Creative Environments, which organizes exhibitions, concerts, and meetings with representatives of art, science, and politics. The entire palace complex, listed in the register of immovable monuments, includes not only the palace itself but also an outbuilding from the years 1848–1856, an orangery from 1851–1856, a fence with a gate and the "Plotkarka" tower from 1850–1856, as well as an 18th-century garden that was redesigned in 1854. A red urban trail runs around the palace, leading to numerous historic sites and tourist attractions in Kielce. The Tomasz Zieliński Palace is an important point on the city's cultural map, combining rich history with architecture and activities dedicated to the arts.
