Trzebiatów Town Hall

The Town Hall in Trzebiatów is a classicist building situated in the center of the market square, boasting a rich history dating back to the 15th century. The first seat of the town council in Trzebiatów was built in the Gothic style but was destroyed in 1696. The current structure of the town hall was erected in 1701 on the foundations of the original building. The architecture of the town hall is intriguing; constructed on a quadrilateral plan with a courtyard, it showcases a blend of various styles. On the western facade, remnants of Gothic arcades are visible, serving as evidence of the earlier structure. The taller eastern wing, with its roof and risalit, along with the tower adorned with a Baroque spire and clock, draws attention and gives the entire building its distinctive appearance. In the courtyard, remnants of a gallows can be observed, adding historical context and a somber atmosphere to the place. The town hall not only served administrative functions but was also an important element of the town's cultural life. Its architecture and history are an integral part of Trzebiatów's identity, attracting tourists and history enthusiasts alike.
