Trzemeszno is an urban-rural municipality located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within Gniezno County, with its administrative seat in the town of Trzemeszno. The history of the municipality dates back to medieval times, giving it a rich historical heritage. Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of 174.81 km², dominated by agricultural land (75%) and forests (10%). It constitutes 13.94% of the area of Gniezno County, and as of June 30, 2004, it was inhabited by 14,102 people.
