Tychowo is an urban-rural municipality located in the eastern part of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Białogard County, with its seat in the town of Tychowo. The municipality covers an area of 350.45 km² and has a population of 6,864, resulting in a low population density of 19.6 people per km². The area is primarily part of the Białogard Plain, with a significant forest cover accounting for 56% of the territory. Nearby lies the Cisy Tychowskie Nature Reserve, as well as numerous rivers, including the Parsęta and its tributaries, which are popular among kayakers. Tychowo has a long history, dating back to when it gained railway connection in 1878. The region's architectural heritage is noteworthy, featuring the Trygław Boulder in Tychowo—a protected natural monument and one of the largest glacial erratics in Europe. The local culture reflects influences that have endured since World War II, when the Stalag Luft IV prisoner-of-war camp was located nearby.
