Gmina Wólka, located in the Lublin Voivodeship within the Lublin County, is a rural municipality distinguished by the highest population density in the region. Its current administrative seat, Jakubowice Murowane, has served as the center of local governance since December 30, 1999, succeeding the former seat in Wólka. Covering an area of 72.65 km², the municipality is predominantly characterized by agricultural land (77%) and forests (14%), accounting for 4.33% of the total area of Lublin County. According to demographic data from December 2014, the population of the municipality was 11,126.
