W skrócie

wikipedia
Warszawa Ochota is a railway stop located in the Wola district of Warsaw, at Aleje Jerozolimskie 58, near Artur Zawisza Square. It was designed by Wacław Zalewski between 1954 and 1962 and opened on September 29, 1963. The station is characterized by its modernist architecture, featuring a pavilion-style structure with a shell-shaped hyperbolic paraboloid roof—an innovative design that enhances the building's functionality. Formerly known as Warszawa Zawisza, the station underwent a comprehensive renovation from 2007 to 2009, restoring its original appearance. In 2012, it was added to the municipal register of historical monuments. The station serves trains operated by the Warsaw Commuter Railway (Szybka Kolej Miejska), Mazovian Railways (Koleje Mazowieckie), and the Warsaw Commuter Rail (Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa). It is used by approximately 6,500 passengers daily. Warszawa Ochota plays a significant role in urban transport, improving rail accessibility and reducing the load on other forms of public transportation in Warsaw. The surrounding area includes other important landmarks, such as Warszawa Główna (Warsaw Main Station) and the Museum of the Railway Station (Stacja Muzeum), highlighting the cultural and historical significance of the location. Interestingly, escalators were originally planned for the station but were eventually removed in the 1980s due to malfunctions. The history of the stop is closely tied to the development of Poland's postwar railway network, underscoring its importance in the capital's transport integration. In 2013, there were considerations to rename the station to Warszawa Plac Zawiszy, but the idea was ultimately rejected. Future plans include covering the station as part of the reconstruction of the cross-city rail line.
