wikipedia
The water tower in Pisz, located on Gdańska Street, was built in 1907 and for many years served an important function as part of the local water supply system. It was decommissioned in 1992 and listed in the Register of Historic Monuments in 2007. After a thorough renovation in 2013, the tower gained a new purpose and now offers an observation deck and a restaurant, attracting both tourists and locals. With a total height of 38 meters, the tower features a distinctive shape typical of "mushroom" style water towers, common in the former Prussian territories. This architectural style, characterized by a narrow shaft and a wide tank cap, reflects the popularity of historicism in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Inside the cap, there was an Intze I type water tank with a capacity of 100 m³. Next to the tower stands a historic pump station building, which complements the architectural ensemble of the site. As a cultural heritage element, the water tower in Pisz serves as an important landmark for local identity and history, while its new functionality enriches the tourist appeal of the region.
