The Weavers' Tower, also known as the Ice Tower, is one of the most important historical monuments in Stargard, erected in the mid-15th century. It stands 31 meters tall and features a cylindrical shape set upon a square base. The upper part of the tower is equipped with crenellations and a brick cone. Its façade is decorated with glazed bricks arranged in checkerboard and diamond patterns. Inside the tower, there is a prison dungeon, and the entire structure is divided into eight levels, which were adapted for defense and observation. In the 19th century, there were plans to demolish the tower due to urbanization, but thanks to the efforts of local enthusiasts, this valuable element of the city's fortifications was preserved. Renovation work was carried out on the tower between 1992 and 1993, and in 2006 it was added to the European Route of Brick Gothic. Its name refers to the role of the weavers' guild in defending the city walls, while its second name, Ice Tower, is associated with its use as an ice storage facility from the 18th century. The Weavers' Tower, along with the Collegiate Church of St. Mary and other defensive walls, was designated a Historic Monument in 2010.
