The Wińsko Commune, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in the Wołów County, covers an area of 249.54 km², of which 65% is agricultural land and 25% is forest land. Historically part of the Wrocław Voivodeship (1975–1998), the commune has its seat in the town of Wińsko and is surrounded by the communes of Jemielno, Prusice, Rudna, Ścinawa, Wąsosz, Wołów, and Żmigród. In 2004, the commune was home to 8,700 people, and by 2020, the population had decreased to 8,241 residents. The demographic structure of the commune includes numerous village administrative units, such as Aleksandrowice, Białawy Małe, and Wyszęcice, which contribute to its cultural diversity. The commune boasts a rich architectural heritage, with traditional Lower Silesian buildings reflecting local styles and the history of the region.
