The commune of Wielgomłyny, located in the Łódź Voivodeship, in the Radomsko County, is a picturesque area with a rich history. The seat of the commune, Wielgomłyny, is situated at the southeastern edge of pre-partition Greater Poland, bordering Lesser Poland. The commune is characterized by undulating terrain, with natural features such as the Pilica River to the east and Mount Chełmo to the north marking its boundaries. The area boasts significant mineral resources, which support the production of building materials. An important cultural aspect of the commune is its tourist destinations: Krzętów, Rudka, and Pratkowice, which attract visitors thanks to the microclimate of pine forests and clean air. The commune is home to unique trees, such as the thickest oak in the voivodeship, located in Krzętów, and the Freedom Oak in Wielgomłyny, adding to the region's rich natural heritage.
