Trąbki Wielkie is a rural commune located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Gdańsk County, with its administrative seat in Trąbki Wielkie. Historically, between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Gdańsk Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 162.62 km², of which 59% is agricultural land and 31% is forested, making it one of the largest communes in the county by area. The commune has a well-developed network of settlements, including smaller localities such as Czerniec, Ełganówko, and Warcz. Demographically, the commune has experienced steady population growth; in 2004, the population was 9,644, and by the end of 2021, it had increased to 11,044.
