Wielkopolski Ethnographic Park in Dziekanowice

The Wielkopolska Ethnographic Park in Dziekanowice is an open-air museum located on the shores of Lake Lednica, which collects and exhibits objects related to the rural culture of the Wielkopolska region. Its construction began on September 29, 1975, and the first exhibition was opened on June 1, 1982. The museum officially gained its museum status on May 25, 1993. The open-air museum offers visitors a realistic vision of rural life, showcasing various buildings such as houses, barns, farm buildings, a wooden church, a chapel, a Baroque manor with a farmstead, an inn, windmills, and a watermill. The entire complex is organized into farmsteads, creating a life-sized village. The oldest elements of the museum date back to 1602, while the youngest building comes from 1935. The manor complex features exhibitions illustrating daily agricultural and craft life, displaying utilitarian objects. The museum is an important site for preserving the cultural heritage of the region, combining architectural and historical values with cultural education. Interestingly, its collections include a variety of traditional objects, making it an attractive destination for tourists and history enthusiasts.
