Wolczyn

Wolczyn is an urban-rural municipality located in the Opole Voivodeship, within the Kluczbork County. Its administrative seat is the town of Wolczyn, a historic locality with a rich cultural heritage dating back to the Middle Ages. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the same voivodeship, and it currently covers an area of 240.86 km², of which 65% is agricultural land and 28% is forested. The municipality of Wolczyn is inhabited by approximately 13,500 people (as of 2019) and consists of numerous villages, such as Bruny, Brynica, Gieralcice, and Ligota Wolczynska. The region is known for its picturesque landscapes, which are ideal for outdoor recreation. Historically, Wolczyn was a place of strategic importance, with well-developed sacred architecture, including churches that reflect stylistic changes over the centuries.
