Wyśmierzyce is an urban-rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Białobrzegi County, with its administrative seat in the town of the same name. The history of the municipality dates back to the period between 1975 and 1998, when it belonged to the Radom Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of 104.31 km², predominantly characterized by agricultural land, which constitutes 55% of its total area, and forests, which account for 39%. Wyśmierzyce makes up only 16.32% of the area of Białobrzegi County. According to demographic data, in 2004, the municipality had a population of 2,909, which decreased to 2,779 by the end of 2019. The municipality comprises numerous villages, such as Grzmiąca, Jabłonna, and Korzeń-Klamy, as well as settlements without formal village status, like Aleksandrów and Górki. It borders the municipalities of Białobrzegi, Klwów, Mogielnica, Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą, Potworów, Promna, and Radzanów. Wyśmierzyce does not stand out for significant architectural monuments, which may be attributed to local historical and economic conditions; however, its green areas favor the development of agriculture and tourism. The municipality also emphasizes the preservation of local traditions and culture, which contributes to the integration of the community. An interesting fact is that the region hosts local festivals and cultural events that attract both residents and tourists, reflecting the activity and engagement of the inhabitants in the life of the municipality.
