wikipedia
Wyskoć is a village in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, in the Kościan County, known since the 14th century when its owner was Jaszek Wyskota, the castellan of Krzywiń. Over the centuries, the village changed owners, and in the 17th century, it came into the hands of the Pawłowski family and later the Kotarbiński family. During the period of the Grand Duchy of Posen, Wyskoć was one of the larger villages in the Prussian district of Kosten. According to data from 1837, it had 358 inhabitants. The knight's estate existing in the village was mentioned as early as 1366, and its development was associated with crop cultivation and animal husbandry. Wyskoć is also known for its residential complex, which includes an 18th-century manor house, transformed in the 19th century. The building features brick elevations, a basement, a ground floor, and a residential attic, with preserved interesting architectural details. The farm complex retains stables, barns, and 19th-century workers' houses, showcasing the characteristic style of rural architecture from that period. The Parish of St. Andrew the Apostle, founded according to legend in 1283, had a significant impact on the life of the local community. The current church, built between 1843 and 1861 in the Neo-Gothic style, is an important cultural element, with preserved original decor, including Neo-Gothic altars and stained glass windows. Many notable people have lived in Wyskoć, including speedway riders Roman Jankowski and Damian Perz, as well as AK officer Franciszek Pukacki. The cultural value of Wyskoć also includes an old 17th-century crucifix and various relics located in the church. Together, these elements create a unique historical, architectural, and cultural context, showcasing the rich history of this small village.
