Janiłówka is the highest peak of the Beskid Orawsko-Podhalański range, reaching an elevation of 817 meters and marking the easternmost point of this mountain chain. It is situated between Pyzówka and Sieniawa, on the northwestern side of the Sieniawska Pass (711 m), which separates the regions of Orava and Podhale. The slopes of Janiłówka, partially forested, gradually transition into cultivated fields, reflecting the agricultural character of the area. The northern slopes give rise to the headwaters of the Raba River, while the southern slopes gently descend toward the Nowy Targ Basin.
A hiking trail crossing Janiłówka connects Sieniawska Pass with Żeleźnica, and from its summit, visitors can enjoy a picturesque panorama that includes views of the Tatra Mountains, the Choč Mountains, and the town of Nowy Targ. Beyond its recreational appeal, Janiłówka also serves an important geographical role as part of the watershed between the Raba and Dunajec river basins. This location combines the natural and cultural values of the region, inviting tourists to explore its scenic beauty and learn about the local history tied to the surrounding villages.
