Złocieniec is an urban-rural municipality in Poland, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, which significantly expanded its borders following the dissolution of the Ostrowice municipality in 2019. Covering an area of 194.92 km², the municipality is situated in the picturesque Drawskie Lake District and Wałcz Plain, where 36% of its territory is covered by forests and 16% by lakes. Złocieniec, with its seat in the town of the same name, had a population of 15,400 according to 2016 data, making it the most densely populated municipality in the Drawsko County. The rich history of the municipality includes architectural elements such as castle ruins and the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The region also features numerous parks that protect local flora and fauna. The municipality boasts two nature reserves: Lake Czarnówek and the Peat Bog near Lake Morzysław Mały, as well as five large lakes, including Krosino and Lubie. Złocieniec hosts various cultural events, such as the Drawa Festival and the Cultural Market of the Drawskie Lake District Inhabitants, which attract tourists. Road transport is well-developed thanks to National Road 20, and rail transport is facilitated by the Złocieniec station and passenger stops. The municipality maintains partnerships with towns in Germany and Poland, strengthening its cultural and economic ties.
