Zagłębiowski Park Sportowy, inaugurated on February 25, 2023, is a modern stadium located on General Mariusz Zaruski Street in Sosnowiec, with a capacity of 11,600 spectators. The sports club Zagłębie Sosnowiec, with historical roots dating back to 1906, has undergone a long journey, changing its name multiple times—from the original Klub Sportowy Milowice, to Towarzystwo Sportowe Union in 1908, and finally adopting its current name in 1990. The club has won numerous titles, including four Polish championships as runners-up and four Polish Cup victories. Throughout its history, the club has featured many outstanding players, such as Jan Urban, who played 57 matches for the Polish national team. Zagłębie Sosnowiec fans have forged friendships with supporters of Legia Warsaw and other clubs. Despite challenging moments, such as relegation in 2007 due to a corruption scandal, the club returned to the Ekstraklasa in 2018, and its history is filled with many thrilling moments on the national football stage. The stadium not only serves as a modern sports facility but also as a hub that unites the local community, symbolizing the city itself. After two decades away from the top flight, Zagłębie Sosnowiec continues to fight its way back to the summit, making it a unique and enduring part of Polish football.
