Zakliczyn is an urban-rural municipality in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within the Tarnów County, situated in the picturesque zone of the Carpathian Foothills. The municipality, with its seat in the town of Zakliczyn, borders several other municipalities, such as Ciężkowice, Czchów, and Dębno. Covering an area of 122.55 km², it is home to approximately 12,544 residents, with land use comprising 56% agricultural areas and 33% forested areas. The history of Zakliczyn dates back to the Middle Ages, reflected in its preserved architecture, including numerous religious and secular monuments that attract tourists. The municipality boasts a rich cultural heritage and local traditions upheld by its inhabitants. Among its villages is Jamna, notable for its scenic location and traditions associated with craftsmanship. Interestingly, Zakliczyn hosts various cultural events and festivals that promote local art, music, and folklore. After 1990, the municipality was led by figures such as Władysław Dudek and Kazimierz Korman, who served as mayor from 2006.
