Łasin is an urban-rural municipality located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Grudziądz County, with its seat in the town of Łasin. Its history dates back centuries, and between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Toruń Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of 136.58 km², of which 83% is agricultural land and 4% is forested. In 2004, it was home to 8,351 people. A section of the Osy River Valley Nature Reserve is located within the municipality, highlighting the region’s rich ecological system. Among its architectural treasures are the palace complex in Bogdanki from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the Church of St. Catherine in Łasin dating back to the late 13th century, and numerous other historically significant sites, such as the town hall built between 1898 and 1900 and the wooden church in Święte from 1723. A notable feature is the presence of diverse palace complexes, which not only reflect the region’s former grandeur but also serve as important cultural and historical landmarks. Łasin is well-connected thanks to national roads, including the S16 route, making it easily accessible for both tourists and residents. Several industrial plants operate in the area, such as "BECZKOPOL" and "Młyny Szczepanki," contributing to the local economy. The municipality also includes various village administrative units (sołectwa), which add to the charm of its local communities. In addition to its architectural attractions, Łasin boasts a rich history and traditions that continue to be cherished by its inhabitants.
