Brzuze is a rural commune located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Rypin County. Its administrative seat is the village of Brzuze. The commune covers an area of 86.25 km², of which 80% is agricultural land and 6% is forested. In 2013, the commune had a population of 5,417. Among its tourist attractions are numerous architectural monuments. In Ostrowite, there is a 19th-century manor house, a chapel from 1930, and a complex of buildings from the Ostrowite Sugar Factory dating back to the early 20th century. Gulbiny is famous for its beech forest with natural monuments, which was a place of stay for both Frédéric Chopin and General Władysław Anders. In Trąbin, the parish church from 1881 and a 19th-century cemetery with historic tombstones are worth seeing. Ugoszcz boasts a palace and park complex from the second half of the 19th century and a Rococo gate from the 18th century. Okonin lies near the protected landscape area of Drumliny Zbójeńskie, making it an interesting destination for nature lovers. In Somsiory, visitors can find an early medieval hillfort and viewpoints overlooking the Ruźec river gorge. Żałe is known for its hillfort and a parish church from 1937, while Studzianka features a pilgrimage chapel from 1704. The commune also includes numerous village administrative units, such as Dobre, Gulbiny, and Ugoszcz, as well as smaller localities like Duszoty and Julianowo. Brzuze borders the communes of Chrostkowo, Radomin, Rogowo, Rypin, Wąpielsk, and Zbójno. It is worth noting that the region has a rich cultural and historical heritage, making it an attractive destination for both tourists and residents.
