Topólka

The Topólka Commune, located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship within Radziejów County, is an area rich in history and interesting architectural resources. Administratively, the commune has existed since 1954, previously bearing the name of the Czamanin Commune. The seat of the commune is the town of Topólka, and according to data from 2004, the commune was inhabited by 5,050 people. Topólka covers an area of 102.92 km², of which 78% is agricultural land and 9% is forested. The commune is part of Radziejów County, constituting 16.96% of its area. The commune is home to numerous monuments that highlight its cultural and architectural heritage. Among the most valuable sites are the 19th-century manor park in Czamanin and the wooden chapel dedicated to St. Jerome from 1771 in Czamaninek. In Kamieniec, a manor complex from the second half of the 19th century has been preserved, including a manor house and a park. Also noteworthy are the wooden parish church dedicated to St. Dorothy from 1775 in Orle and the Church of the Mother of God of the Angels from 1862 in Świerczyna. The commune encompasses a variety of villages, such as Bielki, Borek, Kozjaty, and Paniewo, as well as smaller settlements like Biele, Gawroniec, and Wyrobki. The culture of the commune is closely tied to its agricultural character, which influences the lives of its inhabitants and their traditions.
