Łowczów is a small village in the Tuchów commune, situated in the Ciężkowickie Foothills, in the valley of the Biała River. It is characterized by a diverse forest stand, dominated by beech, spruce, and fir trees, while the fauna includes roe deer, hares, foxes, and various bird species. The village covers an area of 3.05 km² and is located in a mountainous terrain, which makes transportation challenging. According to demographic data from 2011, Łowczów is inhabited by 470 people, mostly of working age. The local community places special importance on the Volunteer Fire Department, established in 1952, which has become a significant integration hub. There are also Austrian war cemeteries from World War I, testifying to the turbulent history of the region, including cemeteries No. 169 and 170. The history of the village dates back to at least 1105, with documents indicating settlement related to princely hunting. Łowczów was associated with the Battle of Grunwald and the Battle of Łowczówek in 1914, making it a place of significance for Polish history. The primary school, founded in 1945, has a rich tradition and has been named after Blessed Father Jerzy Popiełuszko since 2017. Łowczów lies on tourist trails, offering beautiful views and historical sites, including war cemeteries, making it an attractive destination for tourists. It is also worth mentioning the cycling and hiking routes that traverse picturesque landscapes, ideal for recreation and exploring local traditions.
