Łyszkowice is a rural commune located in the Łódź Voivodeship, within the Łowicz County, with its administrative seat in the village of Łyszkowice. Historically, between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Skierniewice Voivodeship. According to data as of December 31, 2007, the commune had a population of 6,892 inhabitants and covered an area of 107.30 km², of which 78% was agricultural land and 16% was forested. Łyszkowice Commune occupies 10.86% of the total area of Łowicz County. An important natural feature of the commune is the Kwaśna Buczyna Nature Reserve, which protects a mixed beech-oak forest distinguished by the characteristics of an acidic beech forest. The commune comprises numerous village administrations, such as Bobiecko, Kolonia Łyszkowice, and Nowe Grudze, reflecting its diverse settlement structure. It borders several other communes, including Dmosin, Łowicz, and Skierniewice.
