Śmigiel

Śmigiel is an urban-rural municipality in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, located in Kościan County, with its administrative seat in the town of Śmigiel itself. The municipality boasts a rich history and, between 1975 and 1998, belonged to the Leszno Voivodeship. According to data from March 31, 2011, the population was 17,624. The municipality covers an area of 189.89 km², of which 76% is agricultural land and 14% is forested. It is a significant part of the county, constituting 26.28% of its total area.
