wikipedia
Nietążkowo, a village in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, located in the Śmigiel municipality, boasts a rich history dating back to at least the end of the 12th century. Over the centuries, it has been known by various names, such as Nethanskowo or Nyetanszcowo. The locality was associated with local noble families, including the Nietąszkowskis, Ptaszkowskis, and Falkenhans. Documents from the 14th century contain information about numerous legal disputes concerning the ownership and boundaries of the village. For instance, a 1391 court record describes sales transactions and mutual lawsuits, highlighting its significance within the regional feudal system. The village was part of the Przemęt opole (a medieval administrative unit) and the Kościan County of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland. In the 16th century, it began to play an important role in local administration and finances, and it became a settlement for numerous owners, including Piotr Opaliński and Tomasz Bieczyński. Nietążkowo endured the partitions of Poland and in the 19th century found itself under Prussian rule. A significant architectural feature of the village is the preserved Classicist manor complex from the late 18th or mid-19th century, consisting of a manor house, an outbuilding, and a historic park. The village also has a railway station on a now-defunct line and a brickyard. In 1837, the village had 324 inhabitants. Today, despite administrative changes after 1975, Nietążkowo retains its historical heritage and local character. An interesting historical figure associated with the village is Eliasz Arciszewski, an Arian preacher who lived here in the 17th century.
