The "5 Figures" sculpture ensemble by Magdalena Abakanowicz, created in 2005, is located in the Rose Courtyard of the Imperial Castle in Poznań. It consists of five cast iron sculptures, each weighing approximately 600 kg and standing 185 cm tall, depicting headless anthropomorphic beings. Their appearance references one of the artist’s larger works—"The Unrecognized," located at Poznań’s Citadel. The sculptures reflect the atomized society of the early 21st century, portraying individuals moving in different directions while ignoring their surroundings and the needs of others. The work is owned by the VOX-Artis Foundation and has been placed on indefinite deposit with the Centrum Kultury Zamek (Castle Cultural Center). The sculptures were unveiled in May 2007 and are currently situated near the Bałtyk high-rise building, on the sidewalk along Roosevelt Street in the Jeżyce district. Interestingly, the artist is known for creating works that often comment on human relationships and the condition of modern society, making "5 Figures" both an important piece of art and a reflection on contemporary social life in Poznań.
