Gromadka is a rural municipality located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in the Bolesławiec County. It was established on January 1, 1973, through the merger of three smaller administrative units: Gromadka, Różyniec, and Wierzbowa, though its history also dates back to the years 1945–1954. Covering an area of 267.68 km², the municipality is dominated by forest land (68%), accounting for 20.51% of the total area of Bolesławiec County. In 2015, its population was 5,438, and according to 2023 data, this number decreased to 5,034. Gromadka features interesting infrastructure, including the Krzywa landing strip and the A18 motorway with the Krzyżowa junction. The municipality is known for its rich cultural and natural resources. Among its historical landmarks, the Silesian Wall near Wierzbowa stands out—a remnant of medieval fortifications. Wierzbowa is also home to a church with a unique altar and other religious sites. The area includes nature reserves such as Buczyna Piotrowicka and Torfowisko Borówki, which protect unique ecosystems. Its proximity to municipalities like Bolesławiec and Chocianów, as well as the nearby railway line No. 275 connecting Wrocław and Guben, further enhances the region's appeal.
