The municipality of Andrespol, located in the Łódź Voivodeship, is one of the smallest municipalities in the Łódź East County, with its seat in Andrespol, where the office of mayor has been held by Dariusz Kubus since 2002. The municipality was formed by merging smaller administrative units, and its history dates back to before World War II, when these areas belonged to the municipalities of Gałkówek and Brójce. In 2019, the village of Zielona Góra was incorporated into the municipality, having previously belonged to the Koluszki municipality. Despite its rural character and lack of typical towns, the municipality has become a bedroom community for Łódź, with growing residential development. It is characterized by a positive population growth, attracting new residents from Łódź. The population density is approximately 535 people per km². The municipality boasts well-developed educational institutions, including primary and secondary schools, as well as kindergartens, serving 2,067 students. Culture and recreation are supported by the Municipal Cultural Center and the Municipal Library, while sports are promoted by local clubs such as the Ludowy Klub Sportowy Justynów and the Gminny Ludowy Klub Sportowy Andrespolia. The municipality features green areas and forests, with the Miazga River as a significant natural element. Architectural highlights include local cemeteries and churches, which play an important religious role. Andrespol is well-connected to Łódź via provincial roads and a railway line, fostering its continued development. The municipality is served by four volunteer fire departments and a police station, ensuring residents' safety. A unique fact is that the village of Justynów once had a summer camp facility, which eventually disappeared, reflecting the social and urbanization changes taking place in the municipality.
