Gmina Będzino, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship within Koszalin County, is an area of diverse architecture and rich history. The administrative seat of the gmina is the village of Będzino. According to data from January 1, 2010, the gmina had 8,369 inhabitants, accounting for 14.5% of the county's population. With an area of 166.19 km², Gmina Będzino is primarily agricultural, with 80% of its land dedicated to agricultural use and 10% covered by forests. The region lies in the coastal belt, in the northwestern part of the county, bordering Koszalin, Mielno, and the gminas of Dygowo and Ustronie Morskie.
The gmina is home to true architectural treasures, including six palace and garden complexes in Dobrzę, Dwork, Kładno, Mścice, Pleśna, and Strzepowo, surrounded by an abundance of monumental trees. An interesting fact is that Dobrzyca is home to the Hortulus Thematic Gardens and Hortulus Spectabilis Gardens, known for their observation tower and hornbeam maze.
The history of Gmina Będzino dates back to January 1, 2010, when the area of two villages—Jamno and Łabusz—was detached from the gmina and incorporated into Koszalin. The gmina also boasts interesting transport infrastructure. National road No. 11 runs through its territory, connecting Będzino with Koszalin and Kołobrzeg, as well as railway connections dating back to 1899. There are five active railway stations in the gmina.
It is also worth mentioning that within its area lies the Wierzchomińskie Bagna floral reserve and a fragment of the Wierzchomińskie Bagno peatland-forest reserve, highlighting the region's natural values. The Strzeżenica and Glinianka rivers flow through the gmina's territory.
Gmina Będzino, with its beautiful location by Lake Jamno and the Baltic Sea, is both a tourist and cultural attraction, combining a rich architectural heritage with picturesque landscapes.
