The municipality of Bardo, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship within Ząbkowice County, covers an area of 73.41 km², of which 43% is agricultural land and 48% is forested land. The seat of the municipality is the town of Bardo, which was classified as an urban-rural municipality from 1975 to 1998 as part of the Wałbrzych Voivodeship. In 2004, the municipality had a population of 5,675, but by the end of 2019, this number had decreased to 5,286, and according to 2020 data, it stood at 5,236 residents. The municipality includes several villages, such as Brzeźnica, Dębowina, Dzbanów, Grochowa, Janowiec, Laskówka, Opolnica, Potworów, and Przyłęk. Bardo and its surroundings boast a rich history dating back centuries, and the area is home to numerous historical monuments and architecturally interesting buildings.
