Bukowa Góra is the highest peak of the Klonowski Range in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, reaching an altitude of 484 meters above sea level. Formed from Devonian sandstones, it features two summits and is covered with a fir-beech forest on its slopes. At the base of the mountain, on the northern side, lies an intriguing group of sandstone rock formations, designated as an inanimate nature monument, measuring approximately 5 by 6 meters. On the western slope, there is a quarry that may be an interesting site to visit for enthusiasts of geology or industrial history.
Two architectural structures mark important historical points on Bukowa Góra: a small chapel, believed to stand on the grave of a Napoleonic soldier, and a partisan grave from 1943, reflecting the region’s military past. The mountain is popular among tourists, with a green hiking trail running from Starachowice to Łączna and a yellow trail starting at the summit and leading to Barcza. The combination of natural beauty and historical significance makes Bukowa Góra an ideal destination for both outdoor recreation and exploring local culture and history.
