The rural commune of Białogard, located in the northern part of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship within Białogard County, is the only rural area in this county. Its administrative seat is the town of Białogard, which forms a separate urban municipality. According to 2017 data, the commune had a population of 7,682, accounting for 16.1% of the county's population. It covers 38.8% of the total area of Białogard County and features a diverse landscape, consisting of forested areas (33%) and agricultural land (56%). The commune is situated on the Białogard Plain, through which the Parsęta and Radew rivers flow, making it conducive to recreational activities, including kayaking routes. Among its architectural monuments, the palace complex in Podwilcze stands out, along with numerous churches and manor parks located in places such as Kamosowo, Nasutowo, and Stanomino. The commune's transport history dates back to the 19th century when Białogard became a railway junction, contributing to the region's development. Railway connections facilitate travel to larger cities in the region, and local provincial roads link the commune with centers such as Połczyn-Zdrój and Tychowo.
