wikipedia
Bieździedza is a picturesque village in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the Jasło County, serving as the seat of the Holy Trinity parish. With a long history, the village was first mentioned in 1105 as the property of the Tyniec Benedictines, making it one of the oldest settlements in the Podkarpacie region. In 1311, the village passed into the hands of the knightly Helwig family, who built the first wooden church and established the parish in 1326. In later years, Bieździedza became a politically and culturally active hub, associated with families such as the Broniowskis and the Romerów, who played significant roles in the region's history. The Broniowski family, led by Wincenty Broniowski, was involved in the Reformation, and their actions even had international repercussions, linked to the political turmoil of the time. Meanwhile, the Romerów family, who settled in Bieździedza at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, made substantial contributions to the development of the local community, with family members gaining recognition as prominent activists and entrepreneurs in the region. Architecturally, the village is characterized by a 15th-century Gothic church and a 19th-century Neoclassical palace, along with remnants of a medieval defensive structure. Bieździedza has also recorded intriguing phenomena, such as the story of an alleged miracle performed by non-Catholic clergy. The village is also known for the activities of local organizations, including the Rural Housewives' Circle and the sports club LKS "Orzeł." With its beautiful architecture and rich cultural heritage, Bieździedza remains an important location on the map of Podkarpacie, preserving the memory of its centuries-old history and traditions.
