wikipedia
Bielice, known as Bielendorf, is a village in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, nestled in the picturesque Upper Biała Lądecka Valley within the Śnieżnik Landscape Park, in the Golden and Bialskie Mountains. It is worth noting the architectural treasures, such as the 18th-century filial church and a wooden house relocated to the arboretum in Wojsławice, both listed in the voivodeship register of monuments. Bielice boasts a rich history dating back to 1606 when it was founded. Initially focused on agriculture, it gradually developed craftsmanship, particularly wood processing, leading to the establishment of sawmills and oil production facilities. Figures associated with the village, such as Baroque sculptor Michael Klahr, writer Marek Hłasko, and physician Władysław Chachaj, have contributed to its cultural heritage. Bielice gained popularity as a summer resort and, in the 20th century, transformed into a hub for tourist activities, offering winter sports and recreation. Despite a significant population decline after World War II, the village attracts tourists with its natural beauty, including diverse fauna and flora, such as forests inhabited by deer, wild boar, and rare bird species. An interesting fact is the informal initiative "University in Bielice," which since 2002 has organized lectures on various scientific fields, attracting many renowned speakers. Thus, Bielice combines a rich historical, cultural, and natural heritage, offering unique experiences to both residents and tourists.
