Bieliny is a village located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the Ulanów municipality, on the right bank of the lower San River. It is characterized by a rich history dating back to medieval times, when it was established as a settlement associated with river navigation. The name Bieliny may derive from light-colored soils or wetland vegetation. The settlement developed based on trade and rafting, gradually evolving into an administrative unit. The Parish of St. Adalbert, dated to 1241, extended over a wide area, encompassing many surrounding localities. The village is home to a sanctuary that has been newly honored with relics of St. Adalbert, as well as other valuable relics of Poland's patron saints. Bieliny has preserved traces of its rich architectural heritage thanks to the endowments of prominent families such as the Jugoszowscy, Ulińscy, and Mniszchowie, who contributed to the construction of the church, monastery, and manor house. The Monastery of the Dominican Sisters, who settled in Bieliny in the second half of the 19th century, played a significant role in local education by running a school. The Volunteer Fire Department, established in the 1870s, is also an important part of community life, and its anniversary celebrations in 2011 drew the attention of the local community. Bieliny also boasts interesting literature on the history and culture of the village, compiled by regional authors such as Benedykt Gajewski and Józef Mroczek. Another point of interest is the contemporary fascination with relics and the preservation of traditions, which attracts both the faithful and tourists, thereby blending cultural heritage with modern forms of social life.
