wikipedia
The municipality of Bielsk, located in the Masovian Voivodeship within Płock County, has a fascinating history dating back to the 11th century, with the first written mentions of Bielsk. In 1373, the town was granted municipal rights, which it lost in 1869 due to a tsarist decree following the January Uprising. The municipality lies at the intersection of five important trade routes, which contributed to its development. The seat of the municipality, Bielsk, is a place where one can admire rich architecture, including churches from various eras—in Bielsk from 1911, in Ciachcin from 1884, and in Zagroba from 1922. It is also worth noting the historic manors in Goślice from the 18th century and in Zągoty from the 19th century. The municipality of Bielsk covers an area of 125.53 km², dominated by agricultural land, with farming, mainly crop production, being the main branch of the economy. There are 1,701 farms in the municipality, with an average area of 7.37 hectares. The municipality is also home to many enterprises, primarily in trade, with a well-developed network of services, including repairs, vehicle mechanics, and hairdressing. In Bielsk and the surrounding localities, there are numerous educational institutions, including 8 primary schools and 4 kindergartens. The municipality also has a police station, health centers, and cultural institutions such as the Municipal Cultural Center, a library, and its branches. The municipality of Bielsk is divided into several village districts, including Bielsk, Ciachcin, Zągoty, and Machcino. It is surrounded by neighboring municipalities such as Drobin, Radzanowo, and Stara Biała. Interestingly, despite limited industrial development, such as a meat processing plant and several bakeries, the municipality retains its agricultural traditions, making it a place with a unique rural character in the region.
