The birthplace of General Władysław Sikorski in Tuszów Narodowy is a significant site commemorating one of Poland's most outstanding military leaders. Built in 1869, it originally served as a school and a residence for the teacher. It was in this very building that Władysław Sikorski was born on May 20, 1881. The structure holds architectural importance as an example of 19th-century local architecture, but its history is far richer. After a new school was built in 1904, the building served various functions over the years, including as the seat of the local municipality, a bank, and a post office, reflecting its importance in the life of the local community. In 1987, the library took an interest in the building and transformed it into the Municipal Public Library, and since 1990, it has housed the General Sikorski Memorial Room. An interesting fact is that Władysław Sikorski himself, before becoming a renowned commander, had his roots in this humble house and local culture, which adds deeper meaning to this place within the context of Polish national heritage.
