Czarne is an urban-rural municipality located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Człuchów County. Its history dates back to the period between 1975 and 1998, when it was part of the Słupsk Voivodeship. The municipality comprises 10 village districts, including Biernatka, Bińcze, Domisław, Kijno, Krzemieniewo, Nadziejewo, Raciniewo, Sierpowo, Sokole, and Wyczechy, with its administrative seat in the town of Czarne. As of June 30, 2004, the municipality had a population of 9,355 people. It covers an area of 234.9 km², of which 37% is agricultural land and 52% is forested, highlighting the significant presence of green areas. Czarne constitutes 14.92% of the total area of Człuchów County. In terms of architecture, the municipality boasts local heritage, although it is predominantly characterized by simple buildings typical of small towns. Historically, Czarne is situated in a region that has witnessed numerous political and administrative changes in Poland. It is worth noting its proximity to other municipalities such as Człuchów, Debrzno, Okonek, Rzeczenica, and Szczecinek, which influences the socio-cultural life of the area.
