Borów is a rural municipality located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, within the Strzelin County. Its administrative seat is the village of Borów, and its partner municipality is Medlov. From 1975 to 1998, the municipality belonged to the Wrocław Voivodeship. According to demographic data, 5,281 people lived here at the end of 2013, and by mid-2020, this number had decreased to 5,257. The municipality is characterized by significant geographical features: the eastern part is crossed by the provincial road no. 395 and the railway line no. 276, while the provincial road no. 346 runs along a short section, marking the administrative boundaries of the municipality. The area of the municipality is 98.66 km², of which 86% is agricultural land and 5% is forested, highlighting the agricultural character of the region, which occupies 15.85% of the Strzelin County. The municipality borders the following communes: Domaniów, Jordanów Śląski, Kobierzyce, Kondratowice, Strzelin, and Żórawina. Borów does not have particularly famous architectural landmarks, but its picturesque landscapes and agritourism attract visitors seeking to connect with nature. Additionally, the local culture is enriched by agricultural traditions and regional festivals, which showcase the history and customs of the inhabitants.
