wikipedia
Bobrowniki, a village in Poland located in the Silesian Voivodeship with medieval origins, was established in 1273. Its historical roots date back to at least the 11th century, when it was likely founded as a patronymic settlement. The village gained significance, among other reasons, due to its role in beaver breeding, which is reflected in its name. In 1864, the municipality of Bobrowniki was created, and in the 19th century, a wooden church dedicated to St. Lawrence was built. This church, the village's only historic monument, features a log structure and a Baroque interior. Culture plays an important role in Bobrowniki, with the Community Center hosting workshops for children and youth, as well as performances by the dance group "Bobrowczanie." An annual concert is held during the church fair, and residents preserve local traditions through the activities of the Volunteer Fire Department and the Rural Housewives' Circle. Public transportation in Bobrowniki is provided by buses, including 26 lines operated by ZTM. The Katowice-Pyrzowice Airport is located in the immediate vicinity of the village. Bobrowniki lies along the A1 highway, ensuring easy accessibility. A now-defunct railway line, operational until 1999, once connected the village to the surrounding region. Notable topographic features include Góra Wadowskich and Pasmo Leszcze, while the traditional market square has been replaced by a plaza housing the Community Center and other public buildings. Interestingly, residents of Bobrowniki have experienced strong cultural influences from neighboring Silesia, leading to labor migration to nearby cities. Despite this, the village retains its unique identity, and its history and architecture stand as testaments to its rich past.
