wikipedia
The Palace in Bojadła is a historic building located in the Bojadła municipality, within the Zielona Góra County. Constructed at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries for Adam von Kottwitz, this Baroque palace, featuring magnificent Rococo decorations, was built in 1707 but burned down in 1731. Its reconstruction took place in 1735 on the initiative of David Heinrich von Kottwitz, and the structure has been preserved in its entirety to this day. The palace and park complex includes not only the palace itself but also guardhouses, a steward's house, a distillery, and other farm buildings, making this location exceptionally interesting from an architectural perspective. In the 18th century, the palace’s facade received one of the earliest Rococo decorations in Silesia, attributed to the stucco artist Dominic Merck. Culturally, since 2014, the palace has been under the care of the Pałac Bojadła Foundation, which aims to promote the heritage of the Middle Oder region and organize exhibitions and educational events. The foundation has been recognized for its activities as part of the European Heritage Days, highlighting its importance in preserving the history of the region. The palace windows are adorned with cartouches bearing the coats of arms of David Heinrich von Kottwitz and his wife, emphasizing the family's significance in the history of this place. An interesting feature is the unusual location of the park on the opposite side of the road from the palace, which originally featured a Baroque garden. In the 19th century, the park retained its layout, making it a valuable example of garden architecture. The palace complex, known from an engraving by Friedrich Bernard Werner from around 1745, still looks impressive today, showcasing both the beauty of the architecture and the cultural richness of the region.
