wikipedia
The Boniewo Commune, located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship within the Włocławek County, is a rural administrative unit whose history dates back to the administrative reform of 1973, when the Boniewo Commune was first established. Between 1975–1976 and 1984–1998, the commune was administratively part of the Włocławek Voivodeship. The seat of the commune is Boniewo, which had a population of 3,582 in 2004. The commune consists of 17 village councils (sołectwa) and several non-council settlements. Within its territory, there are valuable architectural monuments, including a manor complex from the second half of the 19th century in Boniewo, as well as similar complexes in Kaniewo and Otmianowo, which include both manor houses and parks. The Boniewo Commune is characterized by a significant share of agricultural land (86%) and forested areas (5%), which play a key role in the local economy. It is worth noting that the commune's territory has undergone various administrative changes in the past, including incorporation into other communes and returns to Włocławek County. The history of Boniewo is an example of Poland's complex administrative past and constitutes an important part of the cultural heritage of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. The commune also has a specific spatial structure, dominated by agricultural areas, which influences the daily life of its inhabitants and their local culture. An interesting fact is that Boniewo is home to a Roman Catholic cemetery from the 19th/20th century, which now serves as a communal burial ground. The commune is surrounded by neighboring municipalities such as Chodecz, Lubraniec, and Izbica Kujawska, fostering local cooperation and cultural exchange.
