wikipedia
Brenna is a village in the Silesian Voivodeship, located in the Cieszyn County, known for its rich history dating back to the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries when a glassworks was established here. The first mention of the settlement comes from 1490. In the 16th century, Brenna was known as a center of pastoralism, which attracted wandering Vlach shepherds. The development of the community was halted by the outbreak of World War II, during which the residents engaged in partisan activities. After the war, Brenna developed dynamically, and in response to the growing needs of the inhabitants, the Brenna municipality was established in 1972. Architecturally, the village stands out with historic buildings, such as the 18th-century Church of St. John the Baptist and the rectory from 1789. In the very heart of Brenna, there are many temples of various denominations, highlighting its diverse religious traditions. Culturally, Brenna actively promotes ecumenical events, such as the Ecumenical Harvest Festival, organized annually. The residents are involved in various forms of activity, such as sports, with numerous sports clubs, and tourism, with a rich accommodation base. An interesting fact is that Brenna is a place where summer events take place, including an open-air amphitheater cinema. The village also has partnership relations with places such as Bystrzyca, Písečná, and Třinec, which underscores its openness to international cooperation. Currently, Brenna is known as a summer resort village, attracting tourists with its picturesque location in the Silesian Beskids.
