The Bukowiec Commune, located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the Świecie County, is a rural municipality with an agricultural character, covering an area of 11,100 hectares. Its administrative seat is the village of Bukowiec. The commune consists of 16 villages, with the main centers being Bukowiec and Przysiersk. The area boasts numerous architectural monuments, including palace and manor complexes such as the late 19th-century palace in Budyń, as well as manors and parks in Gawroniec, Kawęcin, Poledno, and Różanna, which reflect the region's rich history. The commune is also a hub for cultural activities, hosting regular events, festivals, and celebrations of local traditions, such as the Municipal Harvest Festival (Dożynki Gminne) and the Bukowiec Commune Days. Local education is represented by various educational institutions, including kindergartens and primary schools.
