Przysiersk, also known as Heinrichsdorf, is a Kociewie village in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Świecie County, with a history dating back to the 14th century. In 1351, the Teutonic Order granted the village to Jan Klukow, indicating its administrative importance as a gathering place for the nobility. Over the following centuries, Przysiersk developed economically, boasting as much as 60 włók (a historical unit of land measurement) of land by the 16th century. The village had a diverse population, including both Catholics and Evangelicals, and its development was marked by continuous administrative changes brought about by various rulers and occupiers.
The parish church of St. Lawrence, built in 1821 in the Neo-Gothic style, is the most important historical monument in Przysiersk. Its interior is adorned with valuable elements, such as a late Gothic sculpture of the Madonna and Child and Baroque altars that originate from an earlier, wooden church. Another interesting aspect of Przysiersk is the history of its school, which has likely existed since the 16th century and underwent numerous transformations, particularly during the period of Prussian Germanization and after World War II, shaping the local Polish identity. The promotion of regional education led to the establishment of a regional chamber, and the school was named after Dr. Florian Ceynowa, a well-known regionalist.
The Volunteer Fire Department (OSP) in Przysiersk, founded in 1904, is one of the oldest associations that has survived to this day. During its centennial celebration, new rescue equipment was presented. The village is also home to the football club Sparta, reflecting social activity within the local community. Przysiersk is a place with a rich history that, despite changing fortunes, has managed to preserve its traditions and culture, serving as an example of a Kociewie community.
