Żarów Commune, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Świdnica County, is an urban-rural commune with its seat in the town of Żarów. According to demographic data, the commune's population was 12,340 in 2004 and increased slightly to 12,342 by 2020. The commune includes numerous villages such as Bożanów, Buków, and Mielęcin, as well as the locality of Kalno-Wostówka, which does not have the status of a village. The commune covers an area of 87.98 km², of which only 11% is forested, while a dominant 77% is agricultural land, highlighting the region's rural character. The commune constitutes 11.84% of the area of Świdnica County.
