Charter

Harta is a village in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, located in the Dynowskie Foothills, with a rich history dating back to the 14th century when it was established under German law. Its first written mention comes from 1429. Harta was a noble village, historically owned by various families, including the Kmitas, Denowskis, and Skrzyńskis. In the 20th century, it played a significant role in the peasant movement, hosting major demonstrations in 1937. Architectural attractions include the parish church of St. Nicholas, built between 1779 and 1804, and a cemetery chapel from the early 20th century. Harta is also known for its vibrant cultural traditions, such as the brass orchestra established in 1924 and the folk band "Młoda Harta." The village boasts rich flora and fauna, with forests and streams forming part of the Subcarpathian ecosystem, as well as traditions of private distilling, where local alcohol production, known as "hartini," has many enthusiasts. Harta is a place where tradition meets modernity—the village actively develops its infrastructure, and as statistics show, the population remains stable. Interestingly, Harta has no major water reservoirs, but its residents maintain customs related to local cellulose production, which aligns with the village's agricultural traditions. Culture, history, architecture, and community activities create Harta's unique character, attracting not only residents but also visitors.
