W skrócie

wikipedia
Chmielowice, a district of the city of Opole, is a locality with a rich history, known for the etymology of its name derived from the word "chmiel" (hops). Incorporated into Opole on January 1, 2017, it was previously a village in the Komprachcice municipality. It was first mentioned in chronicles in 1386. Over the centuries, Chmielowice was part of various estates, including that of the Church of St. Adalbert in Opole and owners from the von Ziegler and von Donat families, who transformed the estate in the 19th century, with the manor house remaining in use until 1929. Chmielowice is known for its preserved 19th-century manor park and buildings such as a school from 1911 and a chapel from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The locality also features the Church of St. Anne Samotrzecia, built between 1985 and 1990, as well as active organizations like the Society of Friends of Chmielowice and the Volunteer Fire Department, which engages in various local activities. An interesting fact is the history of railway communication, with a station opened in 1892, which significantly influenced the development of the area. Despite many changes, Chmielowice has retained its identity and unique character, blending tradition with modernity.
